"Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one." - Albert Einstein
Albert Einstein ( – ) was a German-born theoretical physicist regarded as the greatest sciene genius of the 20th century. He made significant contributions to the theory of relativity, quantum mechanics, statistical mechanics and cosmology. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics for his explanation of the photoelectric effect and "for his services to Theoretical Physics."
Born March 14, to a featherbed salesman, Hermann Einstein and Pauline née Koch in Ulm in Baden-Württemberg Germany. As a boy, Einstein attended a Catholic elementary school and studied the violin. He was a slow learner, a fact which he attributes to his success because he pondered space and time later than most children and was, therefore, able to bring more intellect to the task.
Einstein received a progressive, for its day, education from the Luitpold Gymnasium, learning mathematics around age twelve. In , he taught himself Euclidean plane geometry from a school booklet and began to study calculus. In

Albert Einstein was a German-born physicist known for his theory of relativity and contributions to modern physics. He won the Nobel Prize in Physics in and is widely regarded as one of the most influential scientists of the 20th century.
Who is Albert Einstein?
Albert Einstein was a prominent German mathematician and physicist, best known for formulating the theories of special and general relativity, which revolutionized our understanding of space, time, and gravity. Born on March 14, , in Ulm, Württemberg, Germany, he displayed an early passion for inquiry and a deep intellect, despite facing challenges in the rigid educational environment of his youth. He went on to become a significant figure in theoretical physics, earning the Nobel Prize in Physics in for his groundbreaking explanation of the photoelectric effect, which laid the groundwork for quantum theory.
In , as the Nazi Party rose to power, Einstein emigrated to the United States, seeking refuge from persecution due to his Jewish heritage. He accepted a position at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeto
The embodiment of genius and the pre-eminent scientist of the modern age, his theories and discoveries have profoundly affected the way people view and understand the world and their place in it. Einstein was also known as a philosopher and humanist who was keenly interested in and concerned about the affairs of the world.
His sagacious, wise, and humorous quotations, letters, and articles are widely used throughout popular culture as well as in historical and academic works. Einstein’s name and image are instantly recognizable everywhere in the world.
Albert Einstein was a theoretical physicist and the most famous scientist in human history. He developed the general theory of relativity, one of the two pillars of modern physics, alongside quantum mechanics. He is perhaps best known in popular culture for his mass/energy equivalence formula E=mc2. In he received the Nobel Prize in Physics for his “services to theoretical physics”, and in particular his discovery of the photoelectric effect, a pivotal step in the evolution of quantum theory.
