Osnovno šolo je obiskoval v Zagorju in od gimnazijo v Trbovljah. Kot udeleženec več mladinskih delovnih brigad je prejel pet udarniških značk. Na Fakulteto za sociologijo, politične vede in novinarstvo (FSPN) se je vpisal in kot politolog diplomiral –87 je bil član predsedstva Zveze socialistične mladine Jugoslavije v Beogradu. –88 je služil vojaški rok. –89 je kot komercialist delal v podjetju Mikrohit, –94 pa kot direktor v podjetju Oria Zagorje. –97 je bil kot predstavnik lokalnih interesov član Državnega sveta RS.
