Hi, I’m Sarah!
Thanks for visiting my site. I’m a DONA certified birth doula, Pilates instructor and yoga sharer who specializes in pre and postnatal preparation and movement, residing in Venice, California.
My journey into movement began in my early years as a dancer. A car accident in college forced me to become very acquainted with my suddenly incapable body in order to heal correctly, and so teaching was a natural progression.
In , I received my comprehensive Pilates Mat and Apparatus Certifications from Pilates Academy International in New York City.
From there, my journey took me to Bali, Thailand, and Australia to live and to work and to learn to teach yoga, meditation, breath work, and women. In , I initiated the process of becoming a certified birth doula (CD-DONA). After many years of preparing women for childbirth in their Pilates sessions, melding movement and birthing has been my life’s greatest and most fulfilling work.

The Village: Supporting Birth Workers and Families, One Mama at a Time
When Sarah co-founded The Village in alongside Amira and Christy, their mission was clear: bridge the gap in maternal care in the U.S., a country where maternal support often feels like a luxury rather than a necessity. What began as a grassroots nonprofit serving Los Angeles quickly grew into a national network of advocacy and care, empowering birthing individuals and birth workers alike.

A Village Born Out of Need
Sarah's journey to founding The Village started with her work as a birth doula, Pilates instructor, and advocate for dignity in maternal care. Joined by Amira, a nonprofit attorney and fellow Pilates instructor, and Christy, an OB-GYN, the trio recognized the critical lack of support services for pregnant and postpartum people in the U.S.

Especially for first time parents! Planning is key and Sarah has done the research. Undoubtedly, anyone who has used a doula has named it the best money ever spent.
Sarah offers a free consultation to see if you are good match for preparing for your birth.
Services include a prenatal visit at 36 weeks, constant communication via text and phone call from 36 weeks until baby is born, uninterrupted physical, emotional, mental and spiritual support to mama while in labor (whether she labors for two hours or two days), and postnatal check-in.
